Christmas here we come
Crickey – a very busy week.
I’ve often been too whacked to read as usual at night, though I did find time to indulge my guilty pleasure of Masterchef on TV. Michel Roux is always brilliant and it is such a pleasure to watch him, the real pro in action.
Loving the ‘The Finkler Question’ which undoubtedly deserves its Booker Prize. (long overdue for Jacobson – ‘Kalooki Nights’ was a very special book). What a talent! You laugh, you cry and you adore his characters.
Back at Prometheus HQ we’re working flat out to get our Christmas offering organised both physically at the binders and virtually with Alex our tiptop IT guru. Nearly there! We’re adding lots of new items to the site – Christmas special offers
, and a small range of very desirable products including a cute Three-year Journal for every female who is a little girl at heart. We’re printing that ourselves too, so there’s lots of finger crossing at the moment that everything appears as it should. Marie and I are on a steep learning curve as far as printing is concerned and so far we know the difference between leaves and pages (good huh?) and have a bit of a clue about gsm (that’s the weight). So, small progress is being made. Though I’m not sure our printer would agree with that – lots of sighing over the phone.
There’s been a huge response to Quentin Letts’ mention of Prometheus Bound in the Saturday Mail of 16th October, when he talked of us binding Tony Blair’s ‘A Journey’ in red snakeskin. We’re waiting for your order, Cherie. Though maybe red lizard would work rather well too! And Marie and I are unfortunately not living up to his description of us as ‘two cool blondes’ – well one of us is and it’s not me.
Squeezed in the absolutely wonderful Gaugin exhibition early this morning – sell your mother to get a ticket – and worth working late to catch up.
Roll on Christmas!
